Step 1: Fees
- Owner-occupied, one or two tenants: $40 per unit
- Owner-occupied, three or more tenants: $50 per unit
- Not owner-occupied: $50 per unit
Baltimore County Rental Inspections
If you own a building with six dwelling units or fewer that you intend to rent, each unit must be registered or approved for exemption before tenants move in.
Step 2: Inspection
Have a licensed home inspector complete an inspection sheet for each rental unit.
Step 3: Documentation
Prepare required forms including inspection sheet and applicable compliance certificates.

Review regulations and complete application or renewal with Baltimore County.
